The Chavanel hotel

The spirit of elegance, personalised feel and location in the heart of Paris need no introduction. For all this and more, the owner-run Chavanel boutique hotel has been sharing its unique vision of the French art of living for some two generations.

Drawing its inspiration from its position, in the quarter of the French capital, which takes in Saint-Honoré, the Grands Magasins (major department store district) and the Madeleine, the hotel nurtures its truly discreet sense of luxury. Enjoy the privilege of made-to-measure hospitality for discovering Paris at its most authentic. Explore the exclusive boutique, which offers a selection of signature items. Enjoy the good things in life, safe in the knowledge that we are committed to sustainable development from our organic breakfasts to eco-friendly initiatives. Refinement and generosity are the watchwords for your stay here.

Each of the hotel’s 27 rooms and junior suites has been designed as an oasis of comfort, a cosy cocoon, in which the use of fabrics and materials is literally a fine art very much of the times. The sleek design, created by Anne Peyroux and Emmanuèle Thisy, pays tribute to the noblest of fabrics… one in particular. An iconic component of haute couture — which was born in this area of Paris — lace is a leitmotif of the Chavanel’s contemporary-style decoration.

Intricate motifs and subdued lighting contrasts create a sense of quiet well-being, with select touches, all of which are handcrafted.

Hotel Chavanel is a great believer in local know-how and expertise, with a duty to share local suppliers’ commitment. Whether served at the buffet in the vaulted stone dining room, on a tray from room service, or to takeaway, the flavours of our organic cuisine are there to be discovered for a tailormade experience at your own pace.

Quiche and eggs, smoked salmon, a selection of cold cuts, refined cheeses, bread and Viennese pastries, fruit and vegetables in season, cakes including gluten-free recipes, dried fruit and superfruit, dairy products including lactose-free items, artisanal jams, fresh fruit juices, a choice of coffees, ranging from ristretto to cappuccino, black, green, white and red teas and, naturally, honey harvested by the Chavanel… Our breakfast selection changes with the seasons, but the quality and diversity of the flavours always come first.

There’s only one short step from boutique hotel to boutique proper within the hotel. All it takes is commitment. The hotel’s owner believes in helping young French brands to promote their creations.

In keeping with its commitment to French- and Paris-made craftsmanship and know-how, the Chavanel boutique offers the pick of the best local creations and collections for you to discover.

This hotel is great. It is close to the department stores and subway, location is great. More importantly, the hotel and the environment is safe. Hotel Chavanel really did a good job giving me a nice and comfortable trip experience in downtown Paris. One suggestion for the hotel, the glasses shower curtain is not that useful.

After a recommendation from our travel agent, we booked in and arrived. We weren’t disappointed! The hotel receptionist, Henry was really polite and helped us find our way around Paris. Boutique, private and very comfortable. If you’re looking for an easy hotel for a few nights. Book!
